Transoms are horizontal load-bearing scaffold components for supporting steel boards. Available in sizes between 0.7M to 2.4M that can hold 3 to 10 planks. Testing is done on central load points to ensure all scaffold transoms can load-bear tools, materials, and personnel
The purpose of the main transoms is to hold both rows of standards in position making the scaffold more ridged. They also act as a support for scaffold boards. Main transoms are usually installed in the direction of the smaller dimension of the scaffold.
